Why You Shouldn’t Listen to Athletes (Or Coaches!) When It Comes to Finances

If you are an insomniac sports fan like me, you have seen the Jimmy Johnson “Better Trades” infomercial. For the rest of you, Jimmy Johnson is the former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Hurricanes. Jimmy is pitching an organization called “Better Trades” which vows to teach people how to make money fast (WARNING SIREN!) by day trading in the stock market.

How do they do it? You call Better Trades and they get you to come to a seminar. Once there, they show all these great testimonials about the training and then pressure you into signing up for the 2-day program, which costs somewhere between $2,000 and $3,000! Then at the end of the training they offer to sell you software and “insider subscriptions” that cost in the thousands!!

The only person who is actually going to make money at the end of this process is slick huckster Jimmy Johnson.
