Worried About the Economy? You’re not Alone

Is the giant stimulus package doing anything to alleviate America’s personal finance worries? According to Gallup polls, the announced $789 billion plan hasn’t yet eased our fears.

Gallup’s personal finance measure reports the percentage of Americans who, reflecting on the day before they were surveyed, say they worried about money.

As you can see on their graph, worries peaked in October of last year, with 48 percent worried about money. Since early December, the numbers have begun slowly sliding down, and now seem relatively stable at 36 percent.

If you’re losing sleep over the economy, taking stock of your own situation can help calm your nerves. Why not start a budget today!
